Introducing Buddhism this is a six week course exploring the theory of Buddhism - an ancient religion that remains relevant today - and the practice of meditation. Suitable for complete newcomers and those with experience alike

A chance to meet and listen to Vimalasala the author of this new book

 

Vimalasara has published six books, her novel winning the Mind Book of the Year Award 2006. In December 2007 she was awarded an honorary doctorate of letters for her life time achievements and contribution to the African and Asian diasporas. This is an opportunity to hear first hand about her experience of researching and writing her latest contribution. It promises to be an intriguing evening

It is particularly useful for meditators or anyone who experiences stiffness or discomfort; lack of energy; stress, anxiety or lack of joy; a feeling of living mainly in your busy head

A Vegan Fayre - put on by the Vegan Society

 

There will be people on hand to discuss the principles and ethics associated with adopting a vegan diet. There will be literature available for people to read and take away. There will be snacks and dishes available for people to sample, free of charge. It is a good opportunity to find out more about veganism and to try the products that are available in super-markets and whole-food and health shops

Dreaming our bodies awake - a workshop with Maharatnajyoti

 

We cannot truly live if we do not dream, yet we often ignore our dreams. On this workshop, we will be giving time to our dreaming. There will be an introduction to several ways of engaging with our dreams. This will include dream-sharing, dreaming while awake and the connection between our dreams and our bodies. Our dreams are possibly the wisest part of us. Listening to our dreams and dreaming can be a great support to our dharma practice
