Tuesday Evening - a New Look for Sangha NightYou may be aware that a few of us have been getting together to look into how the current classes are doing at the centre, and to see if there is anything we can do to improve what is on offer. So, after a couple of meetings Padmasimha, Prajnagupta, Pramudita, Atapini and Sanghaloka have come up with a plan that will start this Autumn.Tuesday 14 SeptemberWe thought that the Sangha evening should be more of a priority in terms of energy - to make it attractive to both those currently coming to the centre, and those wanting to get involved in the future. The key to its success is getting as many Order Members, friends and mitras to attend as possible, and as part of this the only activities on the night will be the Introduction to Buddhism and Meditation course, and Sangha night. The aim is to create a vibrant environment that will give the conditions for deepening Dharma practice and friendships. To this end we have decided to do a couple of things: Firstly, each night will be led by a different Order member, and will have a general structure that will include meditation, a talk , group discussion, tea break and a puja, though each night will vary according to what the leader on the night decides to do. Secondly we thought it would be a very good idea to have a theme that would run for a year (9 months in effect), and build a more detailed programme around this. So we decided to start with the Five Buddha Mandala, spending about six or seven weeks on each figure. As you may know this is an immensely rich symbol of the Enlightened mind We hope to have many people's approaches communicated to the Sangha on each of the Buddhas and their attributes. We will be starting with the first six weeks devoted to Akshobya, followed by seven weeks on Ratnasambhava, which will take us up to the New Year. Yours in the sangha, Padmasimha, Sanghaloka, Prajnagupta, Atapini and Pramudita
